Samantha Aliah Kim

Coach Sam Aliah Kim .
Unified Volleyball – 11th Season .

By day, Sam works full-time as a Scent Detection Dog Handler Supervisor, tracking down bed bugs alongside her loyal canine partner, Vernor. By night, she is a passionate and experienced volleyball coach, having coached AAU/USAV club teams for over 12 years.

Sam is currently the Varisty Assistant Coach at Bloomfield Hills High School with her husband Brian, and previously served as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Oxford High School for four seasons, contributing to a strong and competitive program. Her playing career began with standout success in high school, where she led her team to its first League Championship—and an undefeated season—in 28 years. She earned numerous honors, including All-Region, All-Tournament, Dream Team, MVP, and was named one of Michigan’s Top 100 players.

Sam went on to attend Michigan State University, earning a degree in zoology while competing on the “A/Green” Club Volleyball team. She continues to play competitively—both indoor and outdoor—and has even competed at the semi-pro level in beach volleyball (when she’s not recovering from yet another injury).

Now entering her 11th season with Unified Volleyball, Sam balances her coaching career with her family and two sons, Damian and Riley.  Sam is also the director of the toddler volleyball program SPIKEtime.
